Claire Creations

I am totally into Navy these days.  I just love Navy and all the colors it can be combined with.  So of course when I saw this Claire paper It just jumped out at me.  I have made several layouts using it.  It is a neat combination of colors and can really spread across several seasons.

Studio J and a trip of a lifetime!

So not only did I get to go on an amazing cruise in February with lots of my Close to My Heart friends they also loaded me up with pages and goodies to make a whole album for the trip.  It also included 5 Studio J layouts all ready to go all I had to was drop my pics in and journal.  They turned out awesome and I already have a pretty good start on our cruise memory book.  Studio J is just so easy click here to go to my website and give it a try!

Lots of Studio J

Let me start of by saying Hello…I am back!  I know I know you have missed me right?  After a nasty virus and pnuemonia I’m hoping we are on the mend for a while.  Come on Spring!

That being said I really took advantage of CTMH Studio J special and got a good bit of my scrapbooking caught up.  (When you have two sick in your home Studio J is a god send!)

So my daughter turns 4 this year I thought it was time to finally scrapbook her 1st Birthday.  I don’t know why I had put this event off.  I have done all of her other birthdays but this one was overwhelming to me for some reason.  I love the way the Chantilly looks with her pictures and so I think it was meant to be.  I had to wait 3 years for the perfect paper!  I hope you agree

Fabric and Papercrafting

I love our new fabrics but I really struggled with what to do with them besides making flowers.  I don’t sew…let me rephrase that I can’t sew.  Failed sewing class miserably!  I was very thankful for this video on the textiles and some different ways to use them.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Which Comes first the Layout or the Photo?!

Ok so this is a question I get asked a lot.  How do you create all these layouts without knowing what pictures go on them?  Ill be honest and tell you I create both ways.  Somedays I just want to copy other peoples beautiful layouts and somedays I have a specific project to work on.  Two things I have found is that I always love to get the new items in the catalog and I am prone to be a Hoarder…shh dont tell my husband!  I used to be so bad about buying an extra pack of my “favorite” paper only to have a new favorite come along and never again touch my stash.  SO…a few years ago I began making as many layouts as possible out of the current paper packs even if I didnt have photos. (this is a layout I created several weeks ago)Valentines

How does this work?  Well the trick is to leave your photo areas a common size i.e. 4×6, 4×4, 3×3.  Most of the time I leave a title off and eventually I will go back and when I have a surplus of photos or events I just start searching my stash of pre-made pages.  And if I have more photos than I have places enter in one of my most favorite products—-> Flip Flaps.  With all of out sizes and varieties the amount of photos is endless!

Valentines2013Give it a try scrap an entire paper pack with or without photos.  It cuts down on your stash and helps you get caught up!

Surfs Up + Bahamas = Perfection Part 2

Here are the other layouts I have completed.  I still have several to go but feel like I have made a pretty good dent thus far.  My creative juices are flowing and my daughter has become a sweet scrapbooking companion!

Surfs Up + Bahamas= Perfection

Ok so I have been creating a lot but one of my biggest problem is getting pictures of my creations.  I haven’t had a chance to scrapbook our Bahamas trip from this past summer.  I took so many photos I knew it would be a big undertaking.  I was able to go to a scrapbook weekend recently and I got a lot of my personal pages done and finally got them photographed.  I am attaching several and should have several more post in the near future.  Keep checking back!  Bahamas layout 2012

Getting Caught Up

I placed a recent Studio J order.  For 5$ a layout I just couldnt pass up getting my books caught up digitally!  I love the way these pages look and really love that they fit right into my traditional album.  Here are a few of my most recent layouts.  This is my take on a layout I had seen on the CTMH website.  I think I did a pretty good job making it mine but using a layout that I loved.
